Bus Revival: Bridgend County to Welcome Back Local Transit Service

Exciting news for Bridgend! Plans to bring back the local bus service connecting Mawdlam, Kenfig Pool, Bridgend, and Porthcawl have been greenlit by the council. After being halted in 2019 due to viability issues, the service is making a comeback, thanks to funding of around £64,000 per year secured through the Welsh Government’s Bus Network Grant.

Councillors and locals have pushed for this revival, and it’s finally happening without any extra cost to the council. Set to operate as Service 63B, it will offer one journey per hour between 9:41 am and 3:39 pm from Monday to Saturday, ensuring vital connections for jobs, education, and daily needs.
