🚨 Major Drug Bust in Wales 🚨

An organised gang managed to smuggle an astounding £3.2 million worth of cannabis from the USA to the UK, right under the noses of authorities! The drugs were set to arrive at 80 different homes across Wales. 😮

Mastermind Abubakr Khawar, 28, spearheaded this international operation, working alongside trusted partners Mohammed Hussain and Abdu Husain. Together, they orchestrated shipments from seven US states, delivering high-quality cannabis to its unsuspecting recipients in Wales, who were paid between £50 and £200 to receive these illicit packages.
The operation crumbled after authorities arrested a postal worker, leading to a cascade of arrests and the interception of 327kg of cannabis. Despite earning between £3,000 and £10,000 daily, the group couldn’t outrun justice.
The remaining members of the group were sentenced to various terms in prison, marking the end of their complex and large-scale illegal operation. The gang’s audacious activities included heavy use of fake addresses, sophisticated communication networks, and an array of accomplices who played various roles.
The operation’s scale was immense, with police finding 59 empty packages at the gang’s stash house in Cardiff, all shipped from the US in just over a week. Personal luxury items like a £14,000 Rolex and £75,000 in cash were confiscated, highlighting the lavish life the crime funded.
Acting to dismantle the group, law enforcement received significant help from Border Force and Royal Mail. Detective Constable Sean Meyrick praised the collaboration, noting the determination of law enforcement partners to bring such organised crime to justice. Meanwhile, Jenny Hopkins of the Crown Prosecution Service described the gang as “highly organised and criminally sophisticated.”
This high-stakes game played by the gang has led to significant prison time, shedding light on the extent of international drug operations and their reach right to the heart of our communities. 🕵️♀️🔍
