🚨 **Traffic Alert** 🚨
A serious incident on the A468 near Machen, between Caerphilly and Newport, led to the road’s closure last night. A pedestrian was struck by a car around 5pm on August 19th and has been taken to hospital, where they remain. Gwent Police were on the scene, and the road was shut in both directions between the viaduct and the end of Machen straight, finally reopening after 1.30am.
Right now, the extent of the pedestrian’s injuries isn’t clear, but let’s hope for a swift recovery. While the A468 is back in action, it’s a potent reminder to stay extra cautious on busy roads.
