Managed by Smash Padel, the Cardiff centre aims to make padel accessible and fun for all. Jessii Wood, the centre manager, is thrilled to introduce this popular sport to more people in South Wales. “We are proud to offer more opportunities for padel, promoting inclusivity and community spirit,” she says.

Padel, a fantastic mix of other racquet sports, is played on a court about a third the size of a tennis court. It’s gaining fans quickly, with over 400,000 people in Great Britain playing at least once last year! Smash Cardiff’s head coach, Craig Evans, is on a mission to grow the padel community in Wales, especially among kids, pointing out not only the health benefits but also how much fun it is. “Who knows, maybe the next padel star will come from here,” he adds.

Beyond the courts, there’s more in store for Llandaff Fields, with plans for a new café and community space on the horizon. Smash Padel is already taking online bookings, with coaching sessions and events planned to get everyone involved, from novices to seasoned players.
