ππ½οΈ Check out what’s on the menu for inmates in Welsh prisons this Christmas! With around 5,500 men in the country’s six prisons, from Swansea to Wrexham, the festive feast is set to bring a bit of holiday cheer behind bars.

β¨ While turkey and Christmas pudding are classics, thereβs plenty of variety for December 25. Inmates at HMP Swansea can expect to start their day with Weetabix and a hot cross bun before enjoying choices like turkey with Yorkshire pudding, salmon parcels, or a vegan option with cranberry en croute. Desserts include Christmas pudding and a spiced apple crumble.

β¨ Over at HMP Berwyn, prisoners will kick off Christmas with a sausage bap and mince pie. For the main meal, choices include a beef and suet bake, halal turkey, or a veggie Wellington, ending with chocolate cake.
β¨ HMP Parc in Bridgend is offering roast chicken or turkey with all the trimmings, or for something different, salmon fishcakes or a vegan vegetable bake. Sweet tooths can look forward to Christmas pudding and cream.
β¨ HMP Cardiff adds variety with options like halal braised chicken and butternut and apricot roast for vegetarians. Meanwhile, evening treats feature steak slices and Christmas cake.
β¨ At HMP Usk and HMP Prescoed, festive delights include roast beef, vegetarian roulade, or a vegan cauliflower steak. The dessert? Classic Christmas pudding with vanilla sauce.
From baked delights to vegan alternatives, the festive spirit is alive and well even in the most unexpected places. π β¨ What would you choose from these prison menus? Let us know in the comments! π
