๐ถโโ๏ธ Ready, set, walk! Glasgow and Leeds are shaking things up with a trial of pedestrian ‘fast lanes’ right in the heart of their bustling city centres. These special lanes stretch 50m long, helping quick-steppers dodge past dawdlers on popular streets like Buchanan Street in Glasgow and Briggate in Leeds.

Sky Broadband is behind this innovative project, aiming to streamline foot traffic amidst the hustle of shoppers and street performers. This move also coincides with the launch of their super-speedy Gigafast+ broadband. It’s all about reclaiming time and cutting frustration, according to Sky’s own Ben Case.

Why fast lanes? A hefty 44% of us Brits reckon they’d speed up our city strolls, as found in a study of 3,000 adults. Many of us admit to losing patience with slow walkers, sluggish internet, and public transport delays. In fact, a mere minute of buffering is enough to wind up 32% of us!
When it comes to patience, Londoners reckon theyโre the most chilled, while Scots and Yorkshire folk are a close second. Interestingly, Gen Z believes they keep their cool, despite facing delays more than anyone else.
So next time you’re in Glasgow or Leeds, keep an eye out for these speedy lanes! What do you reckon โ would fast lanes make city life easier for you? Let us know in the comments! ๐ถโโ๏ธ๐จ #FastLanes #CityLife #SkyBroadband
