SilkFred, which took its website offline in late October, has confirmed through a heartfelt Instagram post that they have stopped all deliveries indefinitely. They urged customers to hold onto any ‘unwanted items’, as sending them back won’t be possible.

Administrators at Quantuma explained: “Due to administration, refunds can’t be processed. Anyone owed money by SilkFred is considered an ‘unsecured creditor’, but sadly, it appears unlikely they’ll receive payments based on current financial data.”

But, all is not lost for some shoppers! If you fall within a certain spending bracket, you might still snag a refund by reaching out to your credit card company. Purchases between £100 and £30,000 may be eligible for a refund under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act. For those who meet these conditions, there’s still hope!

SilkFred’s co-founder, Emma Watkinson, expressed sincere gratitude to all who supported the brand over the years. Her message on Instagram speaks of the pride in helping brands thrive globally: “Thank you to every independent brand owner… Your passion helped make this journey worthwhile.”

Despite the downturn, SilkFred leaves behind a legacy of supporting small designers and bringing unique styles to fashion lovers worldwide.
