🌊 Heads up, folks! The North Wales coast is bracing for incredible surf as the remnants of Hurricane Erin make their way over here. The storm, having spent its prime as a mighty Category 5 hurricane, promises some intense waves and challenging weather conditions for western Europe.

The RNLI is urging everyone to stay alert, especially if you’re planning to hit the beaches from Monday evening. Forecasts are showing some seriously big waves—up to 2.5m high—particularly at south and west-facing beaches, alongside spring tides. It’s a spectacle, sure, but it could also be dangerous! Here’s what to watch out for: strong rip currents, powerful water movements, and hazardous conditions for swimmers, paddleboarders, surfers, and boaters. Holidaymakers, take note!
If you find yourself caught in a rip, remember:
1. Don’t fight it—you’ll wear yourself out fast.

2. If you can feel the ground, wade back.
3. If not, swim parallel to the shore to get out of the current.
4. Can’t escape? Float to preserve energy, wave, and shout for help!

If you spot someone struggling, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard. Let’s keep our beaches safe and fun for everyone. Stay smart, and enjoy the impressive power of nature from a safe distance! 🌊📞 #CoastalAlert #StaySafe #RNLI #HurricaneErin
