🚨 Big Changes Ahead for Cardiff’s Wolf’s Castle Inn! 🚨

Cardiff locals are divided over plans to demolish the beloved Wolf’s Castle Inn, a cornerstone of community life for 64 years, and transform it into housing. While some residents are all for the 24 new council homes, others are keen to see the pub vibes return! 🍻🏡

Cllr Bethan Proctor is clearing up any misinformation, insisting the new homes aren’t just for migrants but are desperately needed in Cardiff, where over 9,000 people are on the housing waitlist.
Yet, not everyone is on board. Longtime local, Thomas McCoy, shares a nostalgic connection with the pub, celebrating its 68th anniversary this year. He reflects on a time when finding a seat there was a challenge! The closure in 2022 hit hard after Brains Brewery had to bid farewell to several locations.
Current residents like Sandra Jones worry about traffic chaos, with nearby Ysgol Y Wern already causing parking issues. Meanwhile, Alfie Keene-Proctor adds, “We’ve tried for parking permits, but it’s always blocked due to school and church parking needs.”
Clive Williams reminisces about the bustling social scene the pub once offered, while Clare Jones and her fellow neighbours fret over potential noise and congestion.
Community voices are being heard at a public meeting on January 28 at Llanishen Hub. This is the moment for everyone to voice their perspectives, with a feedback deadline on February 6, 2026.
