While he believes change is necessary for the betterment of Welsh rugby, he can’t help but worry about his mates back home. “It’s not easy when you’ve got a family and a mortgage,” he says, highlighting the challenges players face amidst the uncertainty.
The anxiety is real, especially for those not secured at the international level. Former Wales backrower Jonathan Thomas recalls similar upheavals in the past, saying, “There’s a level of anxiety because it’s a short career.”
