Parents, you need to know about this alarming issue! Despite being flagged over a decade ago, illegal and unsafe car seats are still for sale on popular online platforms like eBay, Shein, and Wish. Shockingly, these seats do NOT meet UK safety standards, putting your little ones at serious risk.

Trading Standards has deemed these products as “killer car seats”, and they’re right. The risk isn’t worth the savings.

One parent, unaware of their illegality, was using a harness system instead of a proper car seat, mistakenly believing it was legal. Remember, if it’s available online, it doesn’t automatically mean it’s safe or legal!
Online platforms have started taking action after being alerted, but with products still reappearing, the fight isn’t over. It’s crucial for these marketplaces to take responsibility and act promptly against such listings.
