Exciting news from the heart of Wales! ๐ Plans for a food van in Snowdonia National Park have been approved, despite a few raised eyebrows from the locals. ๐๐ Located at Tan Y Coed car park, nestled in the serene Dyfi Forest, this van will be serving up tasty treats for adventurers on the go.

The Eryri National Park Authority gave the thumbs up to this project, which promises to add a dash of convenience for hikers and picnickers following those beautiful trails. Managed by Natural Resources Wales, this site already boasts picnic benches and a toilet facility, making it a popular starting point for nature lovers.

Not everyone is thrilled, though. Nearby residents voiced concerns about potential noise and the condition of current facilities, and Councillor John Pughe Roberts mentioned locals aren’t entirely on board yet. He worries about disturbances to the peaceful surroundings and the vanโs ability to attract some unwanted guestsโvermin! ๐
But there’s a flip side: others, like Councillor Ifor Glyn Lloyd, see this as a positive move. They believe a food van could offer a welcome pit stop for hungry walkers and even stir up some healthy business competition in the area. ๐ฟโ๏ธ
The planning committee decided the benefits outweighed the concerns, giving the green light for the van to operate daily, 9am to 5pm, including bank holidays.
