**Man Sentenced to 10 Years for Crossbow Attack**

In a shocking Aberdeen incident, Alan Bruce, 53, has received a 10-year prison sentence for attempting to murder Richard Murison with a crossbow. The drama unfolded when Murison knocked on Bruce’s door late at night, prompting Bruce to chase him to Eric Hendrie Park. There, he shot Murison with a crossbow bolt, leaving him with severe injuries, including a punctured gall bladder, which required surgery and a four-day hospital stay.
During the trial at the High Court in Aberdeen, Bruce was also found guilty of possessing an illegal stun gun disguised as a torch. Although Bruce showed some remorse in court, Judge Renucci made it clear that his decision to arm himself and deliberately shoot Murison was reprehensible. The judge remarked that it was pure luck that Bruce was not being sentenced for murder. Notably, Bruce committed the crime while on bail, adding six months to his sentence.

Bruce’s defence pointed to his long-standing drug issues, which contributed to his actions. Judge Renucci warned Bruce that unless he tackles these problems, this likely won’t be his last stint in prison.
It’s a stark reminder of how quickly situations can escalate and the importance of addressing personal issues before they lead to irreversible consequences. Stay safe and look out for one another.
