🚂 Heads up, travellers! CrossCountry train drivers are gearing up for a strike on October 3rd. 🚫🚄 The walkout comes as part of an ongoing dispute over the company’s refusal to honour negotiated agreements, according to the union Aslef. Drivers will also refuse to work non-contractual overtime from September 21st. 🗓️

Mick Whelan, Aslef’s general secretary, expressed that industrial action isn’t taken lightly. “We don’t want to inconvenience passengers, but when management pushes too far, we’ve got to take a stand,” he said. Managers must stick to agreements; otherwise, this is what happens. 😤

Shiona Rolfe, managing director of CrossCountry, voiced disappointment over the planned strike but remains hopeful for continued talks to resolve the issue. 🤞

With 96% of Aslef members backing the move, it’s clear there’s strong support for the action. If you’ve got travel plans, now’s the time to check your options. Stay tuned for updates! 📢
