A heart-wrenching case of animal cruelty has ended with justice being served. Dudley Stein, 33, has been sentenced to three years behind bars for the brutal killing of a pug named Boris. In a shocking display of violence, Stein attacked the beloved pet with a hockey stick, causing such severe injuries that Boris had to be put down.

Stein, from Headington, Oxford, had a history of violent behaviour towards Boris, previously serving time for throwing the same dog out of a window. His on-and-off relationship with Boris’ owner was fraught with tension, culminating in this devastating incident. The court heard of Stein’s jealousy towards Boris, whom the owner described as her “best friend in the world.”

Despite being subject to a restraining order due to domestic abuse, Stein breached it by contacting his ex-partner. On the day of the attack, the couple spent time together before Stein lashed out at the pug in a fit of rage.

In court, Stein admitted to being an alcoholic and expressed remorse while his defence highlighted his efforts to improve while in custody. However, the judge condemned the act as “sadistic,” issuing a ban on Stein owning pets for the next eight years.
This tragic story serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of unchecked violence and highlights the importance of protecting our furry companions. Boris’ owner continues to mourn her loss, feeling the void left by the loyal pug who brought her comfort and joy. RIP Boris. 🌈🐾
