๐จ Shocking Turn of Events: Killer’s Sentence Almost Doubled! ๐

Steven Vonk, already serving three years for the manslaughter of football fan Timmy Matthews, found himself in deeper trouble after police made a startling discovery in his kitchen. ๐จ

Officers arrived at Vonkโs Swansea flat to arrest him the day after he brutally attacked Matthews outside a pub. Sadly, the punch left Matthews with catastrophic brain injuries, resulting in his death two days later. ๐
But that wasn’t the end of Vonkโs legal woes. In the kitchen cupboard, officers uncovered a freezer bag containing 121g of cocaine, worth up to ยฃ9,680, alongside envelopes filled with over ยฃ900 in cash. Despite claiming it was for personal use, a sceptical jury found Vonk guilty of possession with intent to supply. ๐ฐโ๏ธ
Vonk, who was out of work, claimed he supported his costly cocaine habit through benefits and odd jobs. Splitting hairs about his drug use, he said the stash would last him 80 days. But the jury wasn’t convinced. After deliberating for over five hours, they delivered a guilty verdict.
Consequently, Vonk has now been sentenced to an additional two-and-a-half years, to be served consecutively with his original manslaughter conviction, almost doubling his stint behind bars. ๐๏ธ
Timmy Matthews’ daughter paid a heartfelt tribute, calling her father her best friend, with his infectious laugh and boundless energy now a haunting memory. Her poignant words reminded everyone of the real loss behind these legal battles, emphasising the lasting impact on those left behind. ๐น
Let’s hope justice brings some solace to Timmy’s family. ๐ #JusticeForTimmy #CourtUpdates
