Zaman’s fraudulent ways were uncovered thanks to a thorough investigation by the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit and South Wales Police. He showed no remorse for the chaos he caused, deceiving people into handing over their hard-earned cash with promises of risk-free returns!
On September 10, Zaman pleaded guilty to 17 counts of fraud by false representation. Justice was served on December 17 at Reading Crown Court, where he received a sentence of three years and eight months in prison.
Detective Constable Alex Sarakinis, part of the cyber crime team, emphasised how Zaman exploited the trust people placed in their friends, turning it into an opportunity for deceit. Thanks to quick action and partnership between law enforcement agencies, his crimes didn’t go unpunished.
