Meet Genevieve Thueux: an incredible mum of four, a dedicated children’s doctor, and a triathlon superstar! Living in Caerleon and working in Cardiff, she fits in her intense training schedule by waking up at 5:15 am every day, proving that passion truly knows no bounds.

Genevieve, at 45, is not only the Clinical Director at the Children’s Hospital for Wales but also a fierce competitor on the world stage. With a gruelling training routine, sheβs qualified for ALL three major global triathlon series: T100, Challenge, and Ironman for 2026. It’s a huge achievement, requiring competitors to consistently rank in the top spots of their races. Last year, she crushed four triathlons, including the tough Embrun Triathlon in the French Alps and the London Marathon, clocking in at just over three hours!

Her packed days start early with an hour of running, swimming, or strength training, followed by more workouts at night. Even weekends are filled with cycling and long runs. Her training regime includes two hours of swimming, several runs, bike rides, and strength sessions each week. All this whilst juggling a demanding job and family life. How does she do it? With remarkable organisation and an unwavering drive.
“I just get up and go,” says Genevieve. “For me, it’s just part of who I am.” Her secret? Keeping motivated with audiobooks and Netflix during workouts, and having a partner who supports her journey. Life for Genevieve is busy but incredibly fulfilling.
Balancing career success, family life, and personal goals, Genevieve Thueux is a true inspiration, showing us all what’s possible when you chase your dreams with determination and dedication. πββοΈπ΄ββοΈπββοΈ #Inspiration #Triathlon #SuperMum #DoctorLife
