๐ง Heads up, folks! The ongoing roadworks on the A40 are set to take a bit longer than we all hoped. Initially planned to wrap up this summer, the project is now looking at a winter completion date due to complications with safeguarding local wildlife and habitats. ๐ฟ


After a rockfall caused a lane closure, a team of specialists from National Highways crafted a pretty intricate solution to tackle the issue. They’re working tirelessly to safely remove debris and stabilise the hillside at Leys Bend, located on the Herefordshire/Monmouthshire border.
For those concerned about future safety, donโt worryโthe plan includes installing steel bolts and mesh to prevent any more rockfalls. ๐ ๏ธ A contraflow system is keeping traffic moving in both directions for now, so travel might take a little longer, but itโs all for a safer road!
