Officers from South Wales Police recently responded to a reported disturbance involving a group of youths, with one allegedly armed. When they arrived in Main Street, Barry, they found a 17-year-old with a large knife hidden in his waistband.
While the cops were in the process of detaining the teen, things took a shocking turn. An adult intervened and assaulted one of the officers, causing the knife to fall to the ground. In the chaos, the man snatched up the knife, allowing the teen to make a run for it.
But don’t worry, justice wasn’t far behind! The adult was swiftly arrested and convicted for assaulting an emergency worker and possessing a knife in public. He received a community order—proving crime doesn’t pay!
As for the teen, police nabbed him a few days later. He faced charges and, on November 11, was given a nine-month referral order after pleading guilty.
