π Incredible bravery at Aberavon Beach! π

On a dramatic night last month, South Wales Police sprang into action to save a woman trapped in the waves. The 66-year-old from Aberavon found herself in grave danger when she became pinned between wave-breakers and the pier. π§οΈ With poor visibility and challenging weather, her head kept submerging beneath the pounding wavesβtruly a heart-stopping situation.

Six officers from Neath Port Talbot, led by PC Molly Cana, quickly arrived on the scene. Despite the risk of being swept out to sea themselves, these heroes formed a human chain to reach the woman. With a little help from her courageous son-in-law, Jamie, they managed to tie a rope around her ankle and pull her to safety.

She suffered serious injuries, including a calf injury, 10 fractured ribs, and a punctured spleen. π But thanks to the quick actions of these brave individuals, she received the necessary first aid and is now in recovery. The officers and her son-in-law have been nominated for a well-deserved bravery award!π
Inspector Will John praised their quick thinking in such perilous conditions, saying their actions undoubtedly saved her life. π
A huge shoutout to PC Molly Cana, Special Constables Colin Davies and David Bird, PC Robert Morgan, PC Daniel Davies, and Sergeant Paul Bamsey for their heroic efforts! πποΈ
Let’s celebrate these unsung heroes and the courage they showed on that fateful night. We wish the injured woman a speedy recovery and hope sheβs back on her feet soon! π
