🚗 Have you heard about the Chery Tiggo 8? Named the “best car in the UK” by Carwow, I took this Chinese EV for a spin to see if it stands up to its impressive title.

The Chery Tiggo 8 is an eye-catching seven-seater SUV boasting a sleek design and a cutting-edge hybrid system. With prices between £28,545 and £36,545, it’s incredibly competitive, especially when you compare it to models like the Audi Q7. But does it measure up in performance? 🤔

Here are a few insights after my weekend drive around London:
🔧 Specs: I drove the Summit PHEV version, rocking a 204bhp 1.5-litre engine with hybrid tech. It promised a whopping 218mpg, plus ample space with a comfy third row of seats for passengers.
🚗 Interior: Inside, it’s all about early-2020s vibes with a massive touchscreen, wireless charging, and more. Although the Tiggo 8 offers a sense of luxury, it doesn’t quite match the comfort of some European giants like Audi or BMW.
🛠 Driving Experience: Around town, the Tiggo 8 surprised me — not entirely in a good way though. It struggled a bit with bumpy roads and sharp turns. Though the brakes were pretty responsive, some features like the indicator’s rear-view display felt more annoying than helpful.
⚖️ Verdict: Overall, the Tiggo 8 is spacious, cost-effective, and might be a good pick for daily drives, but it lacks a bit of spark. Despite the hype, my single word for it would be: “disappointing.” 😕
