🎥 Shock at Summer Camp: Man, 76, Faces Court Over Alleged Sedative-Laced Sweets 🍬

A 76-year-old man is set to appear in court after a summer camp scare that saw eight boys and one adult hospitalised. The incident, which took place at Stathern Lodge in Leicestershire, involved sweets allegedly mixed with sedatives.
Jon Ruben from Ruddington faces charges of child cruelty, accused of wilfully assaulting and neglecting three boys, aged between 8 and 11, during a summer camp from 25th to 29th July. The affected children were rushed to the hospital but were thankfully discharged shortly after. Local parents were visibly shaken, gathering worriedly outside the village hall.

Ruben’s arrest in a nearby pub car park and subsequent court appearance have stirred the community. As he waits for his plea hearing at Leicester Crown Court, the charges against him grow more serious, focusing on his alleged actions and their impact on the children.

The police’s response to the incident has come under scrutiny, with Leicestershire Police referring themselves to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.
