Exciting news, Swansea! A brand-new skate and wheeled sports facility is about to transform the Mynydd Newydd area in Penlan. 🛹🚴 With a £3 million push to upgrade facilities citywide, you’ll soon find plenty of top spots for skateboarding, BMXing, and more right on your doorstep! 🌟

Canvas Spaces Ltd has been tapped to bring this vision to life, and they’re already spinning their wheels on projects like the Phoenix Centre in Townhill and Victoria Park. The big idea? Ensuring no resident has to travel more than two miles to find a fantastic wheeled sports facility. 💯

Councillor Andrew Stevens highlights the city’s commitment to encouraging active lifestyles, saying, “We’re dedicated to providing modern, well-designed spaces where young people, families, and enthusiasts of all ages can come together and enjoy.”
The city’s effort to boost local skate and BMX scenes doesn’t stop here, though! ✨ Recent upgrades have finished at Coed Bach in Pontarddulais and Melin Mynach in Gorseinon. And there’s more to come, with a BMX haven planned for Gowerton’s Elba sports complex, a spruced-up skatepark at Ynystawe, and a host of other developments from pump tracks to cycling facilities popping up around Swansea.
It’s time to dust off those wheels and get ready for some fun. Who’s excited to roll into these amazing new spaces? Let us know what you think and tag your skate squad! 🛹✨
