🏡 Exciting developments are on the horizon for one part of Wales! Next week, decisions are expected on several new housing plans and a business park expansion that’ll bring some fresh changes to the community.

In Aberbargoed, there are proposals for 40 new houses on the fields south of Bedwellty Road. The design includes a mix of two-, three-, and four-bedroom homes. The council’s planning team is in talks about including affordable housing options, aiming for at least 10% of the development. Fingers crossed these discussions open up opportunities for more residents! 🤞

Over in Penallta, there’s buzz around transforming an old colliery site off Winding Wheel Lane. Plans are on the table for 33 new apartments, plus a retail unit, with every new home expected to be classified as affordable. There’s even talk of the retail space becoming a supermarket! If approved, 25% of these apartments will offer affordable housing.
Meanwhile, in Nelson, there are plans for 28 small business units at the Ty Du Business Park. Anticipated to serve various business needs, these units aim to offer flexibility to local businesses needing space.
Councillors will be gathering on Wednesday, 11th February, to make the final calls on these projects. Stay tuned as these developments could bring significant benefits to the community, providing homes and boosting local business.
