๐๏ธ Exciting Developments at Pentre Awel, Llanelli! ๐

Big things are happening at the much-anticipated Pentre Awel in Llanelli. The first phase is already creating a buzz with over 600 locals signing up for gym and pool memberships in the brand-new leisure centre! ๐โโ๏ธ๐๏ธโโ๏ธ

But there’s more on the horizon for this ยฃ200m-plus project. Planners are considering a streamlined approach for the next two phasesโa nursing home alongside assisted living and business unitsโfreeing up land possibly for sale to boost funding.
Council head Ian Jones shared that the feedback for the leisure centre has been overwhelmingly positive, with residents particularly in deprived areas enjoying the new facilities. ๐
Phase two will focus on independent living and care, with the potential for co-location of services, and exciting news that Swansea University and Hywel Dda will soon open services on site. By 2032, Pentre Awel aims to have created up to 1,853 jobs. ๐
With further phases to include business units and even a hotel, the development promises to keep growing and contributing to the local economy in a sustainable way. Expect consultations and more community engagement as this massive project progresses.
Cllr Sean Rees emphasised the importance of keeping residents informed and stressed ongoing communication with health services to expedite their move onto the site. Clr Rob Evans, meanwhile, couldn’t hide his excitement about the new hydrotherapy pool’s positive impact for all ages. ๐ฌ
Stay tuned as Pentre Awel evolves into a hub of health, business, and leisure, fostering growth, employment, and well-being in Llanelli. ๐๏ธ๐
