Get ready, Cardiff! The city is about to welcome its 26th Greggs branch, continuing its reign as the Welsh city with the most Greggs outlets. Known for the irresistible aroma of freshly baked sausage rolls and pastries, Greggs has become a go-to for many in the capital.

Currently, Cardiff boasts more Greggs stores than any other city in Wales, including Swansea, which trails with just 12 outlets. The new shop will soon open its doors next to Boots and Smiggle in St David’s Centre. While the Greggs signage is already up, we’ll have to wait a few weeks for the grand opening. According to a Greggs spokesperson, further details will be shared closer to the date.

Elsewhere in Wales, the Greggs phenomenon continues with Newport housing 11 shops and Bridgend home to 8. Even places like Wrexham and Merthyr Tydfil have 4 each. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or indulging in a pasty break, Greggs is surely a staple in Welsh daily life.
In an interesting turn, selected Greggs locations are trialling a new way to display products by moving items like sandwiches and drinks behind the counter. This effort, aimed at reducing shoplifting, is being tested in a few stores, including some in London.
So, Cardiff residents, keep those appetites ready and stay tuned for more details on the latest Greggs location opening soon! 🥐✨
