Having seen her fair share of accidents throughout her career, she’s sharing her wisdom on popular toys she doesn’t allow in her home. Lauren’s candid TikTok video has gone viral as she explains why she bans fidget spinners, water beads, and skipping ropes.
🔴 Beware of Fidget Spinners! 🔴
Lauren is wary of fidget spinners. “Pieces can easily detach and become choking hazards,” she warns. Did you know that some even have button batteries? That’s a double risk! She shared a shocking story of a 10-year-old needing emergency surgery after a fidget spinner part got lodged in her throat. Yikes!
🌊 Water Beads – Not Worth the Risk 🌊
These colourful beads, often used for sensory play, are another no-go in her household. Marketed towards toddlers, they can expand when swallowed. Definitely not a game worth playing!
🚫 Skipping Ropes Off the List 🚫
Skipping ropes might be classic fun, but Lauren has seen too many tragic accidents involving them. These toys didn’t make the cut for her kids’ Christmas lists.

Despite some backlash, Lauren is firm and believes in putting safety first. “Monitoring my children’s Christmas lists is one of the easiest things I can do to keep them safe,” she says.
