🎬✨ Exciting times for Pontardawe in the Swansea Valley! The beloved Pontardawe Arts Centre is about to unveil its sparkling new addition: a 74-seat cinema that promises to bring the latest Hollywood blockbusters right to our doorstep. 🍿🎥

This £2m revamp doesn’t stop at just the cinema; the project, set to wrap up soon, also introduces a trendy café bar and a revamped ticket office area within the centre located off Herbert Street. Already famous as a cultural hub, hosting everything from classical music to stand-up comedy, the Arts Centre is stepping up its game for the cinema-goers and culture buffs alike!

Councillor Cen Phillips is thrilled: “This fabulous new cinema in the heart of Pontardawe will bolster the local economy by attracting more foot traffic to the town centre, benefiting businesses. It’s a real boon for our cultural scene, seamlessly blending new cinematic releases with our existing programme.”

Venue manager Meirion Gittins couldn’t be happier: “Having a dedicated cinema space is a dream come true. It means we can host big movie releases and the café bar promises a lively new hangout for locals.”
Originally opened in 1908 as a public hall, the building was transformed into an arts centre in 1996, and this latest upgrade, funded by the Arts Council of Wales, the Welsh Government, and Neath Port Talbot Council, reflects a significant investment in local culture and community life. đźŽđźĄ‚
