Exciting News for Neath Port Talbot! 🎉 Plans for a brand-new teaching block at Ysgol Maes Y Coed, Bryncoch, are advancing! This special school, tailored for children with autism spectrum disorder, severe learning difficulties, and profound multiple learning difficulties, is set to expand its incredible facilities with a £10 million extension. 🏫

This development will open up spaces for 40 more pupils, helping to support even more families and children who need these specialised services. With the school currently at full capacity, this expansion can’t come soon enough!
Neath Port Talbot Council has given the green light to appoint a contractor, pushing the project to the next stage. The contractor will be selected through the South West Wales Regional Construction Framework, ensuring a high-quality build. 🏗️

Funding is expected from the Welsh Government, although initial costs will be covered by the council and reimbursed later. This follows hot on the heels of other exciting school developments in the area, such as the approval of plans for a net-zero school replacing Rhosafan Primary School in Sandfields.
Stay tuned for more updates on this fantastic project! 📚✨
