Thousands were left high and dry in Flintshire after a major burst water main this week. Although Welsh Water has swooped in to fix the issue, some residents might not see their taps flowing until Sunday.

The burst, which initially hit hard in the Broughton area, left communities from Deeside to Talacre scrambling. With the added challenge of a summer heatwave, it sparked real concern among locals. Thankfully, emergency bottled water stations were quickly set up at Ffynnongroew Canolfan and Talacre Community Centre to help those in dire need.

Traffic Updates
While the main damage has been sorted, Welsh Water is still gingerly refilling the 500km+ network to prevent further breaks. Most will see water by Saturday, but for some, patience is key until a full return to ‘normal’ by Sunday. 🕐

The effort was no small feat, with the main five metres underground and intertwined with a web of utility cables. Hats off to the team! 👏

Key places for bottled water:
– Jade Jones Pavilion, Flint (CH6 5ER)
– Park & Ride Car Park, Deeside Industrial Park (CH5 2NY)
– County Hall Car Park, Mold (CH7 6NF)

Welsh Water is determined to support vulnerable folks, two hospitals, and 20 care homes during this. Don’t forget to check on your elderly or vulnerable neighbours and make sure they’re sorted with water!

For those affected, compensation details are sorted, and more info is available directly from Welsh Water’s site.

Hang in there, Flintshire! 💪 Stay hydrated and stay connected for more updates as the situation evolves. 🌊💧
