Dr Martin pointed out that while the presence of these substances was noted, it remains difficult — if not impossible — to definitively state their impact on Jay’s demeanour or decision-making before his fatal fall. Such nuances, she said, are often lost when dealing with cases of advanced decomposition or lengthy post-mortem intervals.
