A simple tummy ache turned into every parent’s nightmare. Frankie Turner, a lively two-year-old, was diagnosed with cancer just 24 hours after her mum, Mia, thought she was just overtired from the holidays. Initially dismissed as constipation or oral thrush, Mia was stunned when doctors discovered a 10cm tumour in Frankie’s ribcage, spreading to her liver, lungs, and spine. It’s a rare case of Wilms tumour, a type of kidney cancer that has sadly wrapped around her spine, leaving Frankie unable to walk within a day.
What started as a normal holiday season quickly spiralled into a battle Mia and her husband Adam never imagined facing. To support their daughter through intensive chemotherapy and surgery, they’ve set up a GoFundMe and have raised over £20,000 so far, but every bit of support is needed as Frankie fights this fast-growing mass. It’s unfathomable how life can turn upside down overnight.
Despite the overwhelming uncertainty, Mia plans to give Frankie the most joyous life possible.
