Meet David Scott, a brave dad from Leicestershire living with motor neurone disease (MND), a relentless condition that has been changing his life drastically. Known fondly as Davy, this former construction manager, footballer, and golfer was diagnosed in February 2024. Since then, MND has taken away not only his speech and weight but also his beloved job and everyday activities.
Determined to raise awareness and support for others, Davy is showcasing the raw realities of living with MND through a moving photography collection. These powerful images reveal his reliance on a feeding tube and communication aid, painting a vivid picture of his daily battles.
Davy, who stands as an inspiration to many, shares: “Your body is dying day by day, bit by bit, and you have no control over what direction it takes.” Despite the tremendous challenges, he continues to advocate for increased funding and research to find a cure for this unforgiving disease. Thanks to community support, about £60,000 has already been raised, funding life-changing research and offering hope to many.
His message is clear: enjoy life and cherish moments. Davy calls for more compassion and awareness, urging us all to work together to overcome the obstacles posed by MND, saying, “Together we can and we will make a difference.”
