The local community and council have expressed concerns about anti-social antics, which they’ve vowed to tackle head-on. As part of the effort to tidy up Twickenham’s image, £150 fines were issued, with a discount if paid quickly. Zones notorious for such behaviour saw increased monitoring with barriers, undercover officers, and vigilant stewards.
Councillor Gareth Roberts made it clear: “We’re thrilled to host fans from around the world, but our streets aren’t your personal loo!” The RFU, with grand plans to increase concert hosting at the stadium, backs these efforts, even considering innovative solutions like ‘anti-pee paint’ to curb the problem for good.
Despite setbacks in their bid to boost concert numbers due to local opposition, the RFU remains committed to fostering a positive environment. A reapplication is on the horizon, but until then, fans are reminded to be considerate and follow the house rules.
