🚒🌊 Firefighters Heroically Handle 82 Flood Call Outs in One Night! 🌧️

Last night was a whirlwind for our incredible South Wales firefighters as they tackled 82 flood-related incidents in just one night due to Storm Claudia. The torrential rain resulted in severe and widespread flooding, leading authorities to declare a major incident in Monmouth.

From rescuing stranded residents to carrying out urgent evacuations, our brave fire crews were working tirelessly around the clock. Despite facing prolonged and complex situations, they’re doing this under the strain of fewer resources and continuous cuts.
Did you know? Since 2010, the number of firefighters has dropped by a staggering 20% due to budget cuts. This means our heroes are juggling more with less every time disastrous weather hits.
Hats off to these everyday heroes who, despite the challenges, manage to step up for their communities time and again. But this situation is a stark reminder of the increasing pressures our emergency services face. With climate change leading to more frequent flooding, services are more crucial than ever before.
Flood warnings remain in place across Wales and England, so stay safe out there, folks! Let’s show our support for these dedicated firefighters and raise awareness of the need for better resources. 💪🔥
