While we aren’t breaking the record for the hottest August day (38.5°C in Kent back in 2003), we’re certainly feeling the burn this week. Wednesday promises more sun-drenched skies, with a chance of some heavy and thundery showers in the South East and Scotland. Temperatures across England could still hit a sweltering 33°C to 34°C today.

Thursday might offer a slight reprieve as the heat eases a bit, but it’ll still be warm with highs around 29°C to 30°C in East and South East England. By Friday, we’ll see temperatures ramping up again in the South, brushing 31°C while Scotland enjoys a cooler clime in the low 20s.

This heatwave has sparked warnings from health experts, urging us all to take care, especially those who are more vulnerable to the effects of the heat. Don’t forget to hydrate, stay cool, and look out for each other!

The dry spell’s causing more than a sweat though, as parts of England struggle with significant water shortages, impacting everything from crop yields to wildlife. Keep those water-saving hacks in play, every drop counts!

Stay safe and sunny! 🌞💧
