🔥 A ‘Deliberate’ Fire Shakes Briton Ferry 🔥

Late Tuesday night, a worrying fire erupted at a bin storage near a block of flats on Llansawel Crescent, Parc Newydd, Neath. At around 10:28 pm, residents were evacuated as a blaze, suspected to be started intentionally, quickly spread to nearby fencing 🔥🚒.
Emergency crews from Neath and Port Talbot were prompt in their response. Armed with two hose reel jets, breathing apparatus, and a water bowser, they tackled the fire, which was finally contained by 11:31 pm, allowing residents to breathe a sigh of relief. Thankfully, no one was injured.

One local resident recounted, “Sparks were dangerously close to the gas meters on the building—everyone had to evacuate due to potential explosion risks.” It’s understandable why tensions are high, as this incident follows a troubling pattern of fires in the area, including a recent blaze involving a horse box.

South Wales Police verified that the fire is believed to have been started deliberately, and officers are busy scrutinising CCTV footage to track down those responsible. For now, no evidence links this fire to previous incidents, but the community remains on alert 🚨.
Stay safe and remember to report any suspicious activities in your area. Let’s watch out for each other, Briton Ferry! 🔍👀
