Legendary coach Sir Graham Henry has called for a massive overhaul of rugby’s ever-confusing law book. After witnessing some head-scratching moments in the recent Rugby Championship, including five yellow cards for the All Blacks against Argentina, Henry believes the current laws are just too complicated for everyone involved.
He’s urging World Rugby to scrap the current rulebook and start fresh. “It’s too complex,” he shared, adding that even players are left confused by the referee’s rulings. He’s not alone—former All Blacks star Murray Mexted also aired his frustration over the seemingly endless stoppages during the games.
It’s not just Henry raising his voice for change. Ex-Wallabies and England coach Eddie Jones recently criticised existing regulations too, especially the rigid team-naming rules, which he feels can be strategically manipulated.
