Ryan Giggs is back in the headlines and looking for his next adventure! The former Wales manager has stepped down as director of football at Salford City, where he’s been a key figure since March 2024. Giggs, well-known for his legendary career at Manchester United, had been lending his expertise to Salford City’s management, often seen on matchdays alongside manager Karl Robinson.
The Sun reports that Giggs wants to get back into the dugout. Last seen managing Wales, he qualified the team for Euro 2020 but stepped aside in November 2020 amid legal woes. After a retrial was dropped, Giggs was replaced by Robert Page, who took Wales forward in the Euro and their World Cup journey.
Despite enjoying his stint at Salford, Giggs has always had a managerial itch. Back in January, he hinted on BBC Radio Manchester that he’s aiming for a comeback in the management world, saying, “On matchday, I still get as excited as ever!”
During his illustrious playing career, Giggs earned 64 caps for Wales, scoring 12 goals and achieving massive success with Manchester United, winning 13 Premier League titles and two Champions Leagues under Sir Alex Ferguson.
