Guess who’s taking a surprising new direction? Dexter Henson, the 16-year-old son of Welsh rugby star Gavin Henson and singing sensation Charlotte Church, has traded in his rugby boots for a script. Dexter made his acting debut on BBC’s ‘Waiting for Burton’ on Monday night, captivating viewers as Rhydian in the film’s short drama.
In a candid chat, Dexter opened up about this unexpected career pivot: “It was my first time on a set, and it felt a bit new, but I loved it! The director, Philip Jones, was incredible and really guided me through. I had a wonderful experience and felt so welcomed.”
Dexter also revealed that his newfound passion has grown recently, after hanging up his rugby kit. From being more into rugby since the age of five, he now finds excitement and joy in acting.
Just last month, Dexter made headlines when he appeared with his mum at the 2025 BAFTA Cymru Awards, turning heads and drawing comparisons to his father’s good looks. This young talent is now towering over his mum as they grace the red carpet together, igniting buzz in the entertainment world.
