🚗💸 Fuel prices are on the rise again! Last month saw the sharpest increase we’ve had in 18 months, with the average cost of both unleaded petrol and diesel jumping noticeably. Petrol prices surged up by 2.17p, setting you back 137.17p per litre on average, while diesel shot up by 3.84p to 146.57p per litre. If you’re driving a family petrol car, filling up now costs around £75.44 – a price hike of £1.19 from just last month!

Supermarket forecourts haven’t been left out either. Unleaded has crept up by 2.46p to 134.48p, and diesel by 3.6p to 143.08p. The RAC says diesel drivers are shelling out an average of £80.61 for a full tank, meaning it’ll cost a bit more to hit the road this festive season.

RAC’s Simon Williams warns that drivers will be disappointed by this sudden rise, especially with the holidays right around the corner. This time of year, being on the road is a must for meeting up with family and friends, so those extra pennies can really add up!

But here’s a scoop for you: knowing where to fill up can make a big difference to your wallet. Try using apps like the myRAC to spot the cheapest deals near you. Remember, every penny counts – each 1p saved per litre is about 55p saved per tank for an average family car. A small saving can go a long way, especially when planning those Christmas road trips. 🚙✨
Let’s brace ourselves for the journey ahead and keep an eye on those pump prices. Safe travels, everyone! 🎄🎉
