We’re heartbroken to share the tragic news of Mark Counsell, a true adventurer from Pontypool who was discovered in Malaysia after disappearing during his travels in Southeast Asia. Mark, 31, left an indelible mark on everyone he met with his wild spirit and infectious humour. Last seen on a Christmas Day video call, his family and friends hoped for the best, but their worst fears were confirmed.

Remembered lovingly for his fearless nature and big dreams, Mark didn’t have the safety net of insurance or savings to cover the expenses of bringing him back to the UK. His family has started a heartfelt campaign to manage the unexpected financial burden while celebrating his vibrant life.
Their GoFundMe page shares touching memories and calls on the kindness of others to contribute to funeral and memorial expenses. They’ve been overwhelmed by the incredible support, already raising £8,700 of the £8,000 target thanks to generous donations.

Mark’s sister, Georgia, expressed deep gratitude: “We honestly can’t thank each and every one of you enough for donating and sharing. Our family is in awe of how much support and kindness people have given us.”

In Mark’s honour, his family is reaching out for additional support to bring him home and give him the farewell he deserves. If you feel moved to help, please consider contributing to this heartwarming cause. Thank you for helping us honour Mark’s adventurous spirit and ensuring he’s remembered in the way he truly deserves. 🌟💙
