⚠️ Double Trouble with Covid Alert! ⚠️

A top doctor warns that it’s possible to get ‘double Covid’ – catching the virus while still battling an existing infection! With Covid cases on the rise again by 11%, and new variants popping up, it’s crucial to stay informed. 🦠

Here’s the deal: Even if you’ve had Covid or are dealing with long Covid, you’re not immune to getting hit again. Those pesky variants, like the new “Nimbus” one, are crafty and can sneak past your body’s defences. Dr Nish Manek says the best way to protect yourself is to keep up your protective habits – think testing when unwell, wearing masks indoors, and getting vaccinated! 💉
Symptoms to watch out for? A razor-blade sore throat, hoarse voice, congestion, and fatigue are top signs of the latest strains. The old familiar ones like fever, cough, and body aches are still around, but loss of taste or smell isn’t as common now.
If you’re eligible for a vaccine, time’s ticking! The winter vaccination programme ends on 31 January 2026, so make sure you get your jab if you’re 75+, living in a care home, or immunosuppressed. And don’t worry, the Spring booster is just around the corner.
No need to wait for an invite. You can book your vaccine online, use the NHS app, call 119 for free, or pop into a walk-in clinic or pharmacy.
Stay safe out there and keep those defences up! 💪🌈
