Tragedy has struck in Pencoed where a loving mum, Chloe Powles, found her partner Alex Green dead on the sofa just days before their baby twins celebrated their first birthday. Alex, a doting dad at just 30, had been sleeping on the sofa to avoid waking their twins, Livie and Georgina, who have rare health conditions requiring constant care.

The heartbreak doesn’t stop there. Livie, diagnosed with Russell-Silver Syndrome, is half the size of her twin sister and relies on a feeding tube for nourishment. Despite the challenges, Chloe describes Livie as “thriving” at 8lbs and preparing to start growth hormone treatment.

Georgina’s battle is equally challenging. Diagnosed with tumours in both eyes, she’s already lost central vision in one. Chloe and Georgina have been making frequent trips to Birmingham for treatment, including chemotherapy and potentially radiotherapy if the tumours persist.
Chloe is navigating this heart-wrenching journey alone after Alex’s sudden passing. She can’t work due to the constant hospital visits, and while friends have set up a JustGiving page to support them financially, the emotional toll is immeasurable.
Despite everything, both twins have displayed incredible resilience. Georgina has been a trooper through her treatment, always with a smile, while Livie continues to show progress, small but significant. Chloe is doing her best to stay strong for her daughters, echoing the sentiment: “I have to be okay for the girls.”
This young family is in dire need of support, both emotional and financial, as they face these unbelievable challenges. Let’s rally behind them and show the power of community support in their time of need. ❤️
