Meet Molly Wardle-Hampton, a brave three-year-old who’s already faced more challenges than most of us could imagine. Born in 2022, Molly’s early months were fraught with mysterious symptoms – seizures, vomiting, and an unusual head tilt. Her mum, Corinne, a dedicated nurse, knew something was wrong. Despite reassurances from doctors, a CT scan eventually revealed the unimaginable: Molly had a brain tumour.

Rushed to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, Molly underwent an intense nine-hour emergency surgery to remove the tumour. After her recovery, she took part in a clinical trial, providing a glimmer of hope. However, in January 2025, a routine MRI delivered crushing news – the cancer had returned.

Facing another hurdle, Molly bravely endured another surgery and 33 sessions of radiotherapy. The treatment, though necessary, carries profound risks, affecting her cognitive skills and requiring lifelong support. Yet, Molly remains a cheeky, full-of-life little girl who’s captured the hearts of everyone who knows her.

Corinne, who’s witnessed the harsh realities of brain tumours first-hand, is advocating for critical research into this underfunded area. Brain Tumour Research’s Christmas Appeal aims to change the future for children like Molly. Corinne urges support, saying: “If we want our children to have a future, we need better research and treatment options.”

Sadly, brain tumours claim more young lives than any other cancer, yet receive just 1% of national cancer research funding. Let’s help change this. By supporting Brain Tumour Research, we can provide the breakthroughs and hope that kids like Molly need.
