🚴♂️🐄 Unexpected roadblock during the Tour of Britain! In a scene straight out of a Welsh postcard, the famous cycling race had a rather unique pause when a herd of cows decided to cross the route. The riders, including the legendary Geraint Thomas, were briefly halted on a mountain above Markham. Marshals raised their arms, and the cows, accompanied by a farmer and a horse rider, nonchalantly made their way across the tarmac. Talk about a quintessentially Welsh interruption!

As the commentator put it, “Cows crossing, crikey!” with a chuckle and a warm “Welcome to Wales!” The break lasted a mere 30 seconds before the cyclists were pedalling away again, but it definitely added a memorable twist to Thomas’ farewell tour.

For Geraint Thomas, this race is the grand finale of his illustrious career. The day is set to be emotional, as he concludes the last stage of his career in his home city, Cardiff. The route even passes within metres of his childhood home and the pub where he had his first pint. 😢🏆

Earlier today, Newport played host to a special moment for the cycling icon as fellow riders honoured him with a touching guard of honour, celebrating his incredible achievements. As Thomas cycles towards the finish line, thousands are expected to line the streets to bid him farewell.
What a way to cap off a legendary career! 🚴♂️🏴☠️ Stay tuned for more updates as the day unfolds. #TourOfBritain #GeraintThomas #CyclingAdventures #Wales
