🎢 After 60 incredible years, Coney Beach in Porthcawl is closing its doors for good this October. This beloved amusement park has been a haven of fun and cherished memories for so many. With new development plans on the horizon, locals are feeling the loss. 🏖️

Steve, the man behind Porthcawl’s iconic warm doughnuts, has been serving smiles and sweet treats since 1967. Now, at 75, he’s facing an unexpected retirement. “I was never planning on stopping,” he shared, “but the park just won’t be the same without it.”

Dave, the vibrant personality at the helm of the renowned seafood stall, is contemplating a future without his bustling beachside business. “It’s a shame,” says Dave. “What will happen to all the children who come here to play?”

The Beachcomber, a cherished pub that has been a refuge for both locals and tourists, is also closing its doors. Ian Fraser, a fixture at the pub and a lifelong visitor of Coney Beach, recalls fond memories with his children and grandchildren. The closeness of this community is undeniable, and for many, like Ian, the closure feels deeply personal.
Though the rides may soon be silent, the laughter and memories shared here will echo for years to come. Coney Beach may be closing, but its magic will never fade. 🌊❤️
