🌿 Heartfelt Farewell to Dame Jane Goodall 🌿

Today, we say goodbye to an icon of conservation and compassion. Dame Jane Goodall, the legendary primatologist and environmental advocate, has passed away at the age of 91 in California.
Known worldwide for her groundbreaking research on chimpanzees, her work forever changed how we understand our primate cousins. From observing chimpanzees using tools at Gombe Stream National Park, Dame Jane challenged the world to rethink the boundaries of animal intelligence.

But her legacy extends far beyond her discoveries. As a tireless advocate for wildlife and forests, she inspired countless individuals to take a stand for the environment. Her dedication gave rise to the Jane Goodall Institute and the Roots & Shoots programme, empowering young people across more than 60 countries to make a positive impact.
Maria Shriver called her a “legendary figure and a friend,” reflecting the deep respect she garnered worldwide. Greenpeace and many other organisations remember her as a guiding light in environmental efforts. Chris Packham highlighted her work as “revolutionary,” noting the significant challenges she faced during her early career.

Dame Jane’s accolades are numerous, from a damehood to the prestigious UN Messenger of Peace title and the Presidential Medal of Freedom, awarded just this January by President Biden. Yet, her true impact lies in the hope she inspired and the action she ignited across generations.
The world mourns the loss of one of its greatest environmental heroes, but her spirit lives on in the continued fight for our planet. Let’s honour Dame Jane by embracing her passion for conservation and carrying her mission forward.
Thank you, Dame Jane, for showing us the way and reminding us of the difference one person can make. 💚🌏
