Ever dreamt of owning a James Bond-style car? For John Williams, that dream rusted away on his driveway before turning into a glittering reality worth a cool £1 million!

Back in 1973, 19-year-old John from Mold, Flintshire, snagged an Aston Martin DB5 for just £985. This iconic ride, famous for its role in the James Bond films, was originally his pride and joy. After a few years of cruising, John left it behind when he moved to the Middle East for work. As time passed, the silver beauty decayed under the Welsh weather, becoming a playground for local kids.

Fast forward nearly 50 years, and John’s retirement mission has come to fruition. Taking the DB5 to Aston Martin Works in 2022, he launched a three-year restoration project. Over 2,500 hours of skilled labour later, his classic car is back to its dazzling former glory.

John couldn’t be happier: “It’s been a long time coming and worth every penny. Driving her again is just unbelievable. My girl’s back!” 🚗💨
Paul Spires from Aston Martin Works shared in John’s enthusiasm, saying, “We love a challenge, and this car, though once rundown, now looks absolutely stunning.”
Not only is this DB5 a piece of automotive history, but it might just fetch up to £1 million if offered on the market today. From battered to beautiful, this story proves that sometimes dreams just need a little polish and patience.✨
What do you think? Would you splash out on a classic piece like this?
